Lisa and Jordan: A Genesee Country Village & Museum Wedding
Lisa and Jordan celebrated their marriage at the Genesee Country Village and Museum in late May, and there was no shortage of laughter or dancing. From the moment we arrived, we were in awe of how truly happy this group of friends and family is!
Their ceremony took place on the grand front porch of the Livingston-Backus House, while friends and family looked on from the lawn below. The bouquets and boutonnieres for the wedding were created by Wegmans Floral, and Lisa carried her bouquet down the aisle wrapped in a handkerchief that belonged to her grandmother. A close friend of the couple officiated, and the two exchanged vows and mixed sand as they committed to their lives together. The wedding party then ventured around the grounds, taking in some of the interesting history as we worked through photos.
The remainder of the day was an upbeat celebration, with guests serenading each other on the dance floor all night long as DJ Jestyr (Breakthrough Entertainment) kept the party going. The reception barn at GCVM was tastefully decorated with white lights and unique rustic touches, like the beautiful birdcage centerpieces on every table. A special birthday was also being recognized with song and dance, and everyone enjoyed a special wedding dessert- Smith Island cakes, transported all the way from Maryland, Jordan’s home state. We learned that these many-layered cakes are only produced on the tiny Smith Island, and that they are actually the state cake of Maryland- fun fact!
Congratulations again, Lisa and Jordan! We absolutely loved being part of your day!
