Finger Lakes Wedding: Alyssa and Spenser

The introduction for this blog has been incredibly challenging to write, probably because it’s so hard to choose which part of Alyssa and Spenser’s day should be highlighted first. Should we start by telling you that Alyssa and Spenser celebrated their day with some of the kindest, most sincere people we have ever met, so much so that we had a difficult time restraining from making a goodbye tour at the end of the night? Or is it more important to start with the incredible time and effort that went into this wedding, as Alyssa and Spenser planned from across the country and their friends and family filled ALL sorts of roles!?

Decisions, decisions…But no matter what you start with, there’s no doubt that Alyssa and Spenser’s wedding was perfect and so them.

The getting ready took place at a wonderful house on Owasco Lake, where the wedding party had been relaxing for a few days leading up to the wedding. Alyssa and Spenser opted to do a first look, which gave them a few intimate moments away from all the expectations of the day where they could just be together and share their excitement. While Alyssa and Spenser were doing their first look, their dream team of bridesmaids actually assembled, start to finish, all the bouquets!

The rest of the day took place at Alyssa’s family’s gorgeous property, once a Christmas tree farm. The ceremony took place in a clearing in the woods, where the bridal party arrived by golf cart (seriously, they thought of everything!). A very close friend of the couple officiated the ceremony, another performed a reading, and Spenser’s sister even escorted the four-legged ring bearer, Pico, down the aisle.

The personal touches didn’t end there! Guests were asked to bring a favorite dish to pass, as well as the recipe so that Alyssa and Spenser can enjoy the same food at meals they share in the future.

Alyssa’s older sister created the most stunning wedding cake (side note, this talented individual was also in charge of Alyssa’s hair for the day), and cupcakes were supplied by close family friend Hilary, the owner and founder of Finger Lakes Wine Flour.

Guests filled the dance floor and stayed there all night, dancing to the songs they had suggested for the wedding playlist the couple created.

Alyssa’s dress stole the dance floor!!!

Alyssa and Spenser, we LOVED spending the day with you and your friends and family as you celebrated. You are both wonderful people and we are so happy to have gotten to know you. Congratulations again, and best wishes for all that you do together!

Enjoy a few of our favorites from the day!
